Book 2 in the Magical Mayhem and Midlife Moodswings Series
Magical Mayhem. Since my 44th birthday last week, life has become one chaotic event after another, and there’s no end in sight.
All these witchy things I can do are pretty amazing, but talk about a midlife crisis.
One minute I was having dinner with my family, the next, I found myself standing on a street I’d never seen before. Surprise! It’s been interesting, to say the least.
Sometimes things go boom, and a little lightning may flash if I lose my temper. But, lucky for the people around me, those kinds of mood swings mean they get a jolt of happiness, while my hot flashes give them the chills. Oh, menopause, how I love thee.
The power I’ve gained is amazing. I don’t always know if it’s going to work, but with my magic box and the Book of Talbot, I have a good chance of finding a spell that’ll do the trick. If I make something up, that works too.
I’m meeting some of the supernaturals you’ve only read about in stories. This week, it’s the vampires, and they don’t seem all that eager to deal with me. The feeling is mutual.
My evil Aunt Bridget has stuck her nose into my business again, and I have to fix the problems she’s caused. I’m getting tired of her meddling. She has done unforgiveable things and needs to account for them.
Midlife With a Side of Mayhem is the second book of Minnie Talbot’s adventures in the fun paranormal women’s fiction cozy fantasy series Magical Mayhem and Midlife Moodswings. Read along as she realizes what it means to become a witch, control her powers, and still do what’s right for her friends and found family. Laugh along with Min as she finds herself in unpredictable situations as she learns to rein in her magic.
The first book in the new series Magical Mayhem and Midlife Mood Swings.
Forty is the new twenty. It stands to reason that forty-four is the new twenty-four. I’m in the prime of my life, so things should be getting easier, not more complicated.
Honestly, it’s mayhem around here, of the magical variety.
My divorce is almost final; I’m finally ready to take the bar exam; my life is on track. Most people my age receive simple birthday presents, like a scarf or a book. This year was interesting, to say the least. No one warned me I might wake up with gifts of the witchy variety.
Yesterday I was worried my hot flashes might ruin my make-up; now, they give everyone else in the room the chills. And when I get angry, everyone else becomes ridiculously happy and mellow. How frustratingly weird is that? I need to figure out how to control my powers, but they didn’t come with an instruction manual.
I’m the most powerful witch in centuries, whose destiny is to lead the Covens. My power-hungry aunt is currently in charge,
and she’ll do anything she can to prevent me from taking my rightful place. Even if means I don’t see another birthday.
Midlife With a Side of Magic is the first book in the new paranormal fantasy women’s fiction series, Magical Mayhem and Midlife Mood Swings. Laugh along with Minnie and her quirky friends and family as they bippity-boppity-boo their way through life.

Josh and Jenna's story begins:
How did we let Andi talk us into this? We knew being stuck in a car for the next five or six days was going to be…awkward. To make things worse, the car broke down, and we ended up stuck in a small town for who knows how long.
Josh Dixon
One call from my sister-in-law, Andi, and I found myself at the doorstep of a New York reporter who recently wrote an article about my family that was loaded with falsehoods and innuendo. We demanded a retraction. While it wasn’t her fault that her editor had made changes to the article without her knowledge, it was still written under her byline. Don’t get me wrong, I like Jenna, but I don’t know why I have to be the one to drive her down to the Ranch.
Jenna Jones
I couldn’t believe what happened with that article. When I found out, I quit on the spot and gave the Dixons a copy of the real article I turned in. Now, even though I was the one in the right, no one would hire me. My only choice was to move to Wyattville and take the job Andi Dixon, offered. I would have toughed it out in New York if I only had myself to worry about. But I needed a steady paycheck. I was due to have triplets in a few months. I wanted to travel on my own, but Andi insisted Josh accompany me so I wouldn’t be alone. As it turned out, I was glad he was with me.
Josh and Jenna have a few surprises in store for them on this trip. It would be a journey they would never forget.
Join Jenna and Josh as their story continues in this Small-town Sweet Romance.
Jenna
I thought I’d be doing this alone, but it turns out I’ll have help after all. Becoming pregnant through IVF and discovering I was having Josh's triplets felt right. He was excited as I was, and his family welcomed me with open arms. They can’t wait for the babies to come into this world.
Josh
I didn’t plan on becoming a father right now, but I couldn’t be happier. As we settle into our new home, I know we’ll have to work through some issues, but that’s true of any new couple. We’ve both uprooted our lives and moved to Wyattville, so there are bound to be some unforeseen complications. But I know we can work through them.
Join Josh and Jenna as they navigate their new relationship and become parents to triplets. They hit some humorous bumps along the way, but love always wins in the end.
Christmas is for Presents, Santa, Mistletoe, and Family, especially Family.
Rhonda
I’m so happy to be here in person instead of hearing about it secondhand or watching it on my phone. Everyone connected to Montgomery Ranch has become family. It doesn’t matter that we’re not related by blood; they’re the family of my heart. I wish I could spend more time here with them, but right now, my job is standing in the way.
Derek
I love being on the ranch. It’s become my favorite part of the week. I have the best of both worlds: I work four days at Dixon Inc., then three days on the ranch with my brothers and sister-in-law, Andi. We’ve been able to reconnect since we started spending time here. I didn’t realize how far we’d grown apart until we got close again. Andi's family, the Montgomerys, which includes her best friends, Toni and Rhonda, have become important to me, too.
Read Christmas on Montgomery Ranch, a Sweet, Short Christmas Story, as the gang spends time together during the holiday season. Rhonda and Derek realize that their lives haven’t been that different and that they understand the true meaning of family.
